Protect the Mind.

Our own thought process can be our worst enemy. I firmly believe that we constantly need to remind ourselves to not let our thoughts get the best of us. It is so easy to allow our thoughts to change our whole perspective on a situation. Thoughts take us out of our reality. Thoughts destroy our self-esteem. Thoughts can lead to creating too big of expectations not only on ourselves but others. Thoughts have us picture situations the way we wished it would be.

I think it’s time to start being more intentional about protecting our minds. I’ve realized that the simplest comments can lead my head to think so many things, and that can also be because I’m a very over-analytical person, but still you have to admit you over-think sometimes too. And that is completely normal, but we need to be more cautious of what we’re allowing our mind to think about. Our mind can dwell for so long on a person, situation, a place. We need to start redirecting our thought process.

Let’s begin to think about things that are going to lift us up. We don’t need to dwell on the situations we cannot control. The people we have too high an expectation for. The pictures of how we wish things could be. Push out any of those negative thoughts and dwell on the positive thoughts for your life. I would go as far to say to constantly pray throughout your day that the Lord will protect your thought process, that any thought you have will be pleasing unto Him. This isn’t easy, and I’m saying this from my own personal struggle, but I know if we constantly think good thoughts, it’ll become a habit. Our mind is a lot more fragile then we think. It can make us or break us, and it’s time we stop letting our mind control the way we live. It’s time we be more intentional about protecting the mind that God has given us.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Philippians 4:8

let’s think good thoughts.
